Begin your adventure with a visit to the revered Buddhist university, Sangngachoekor, before embarking on the uphill trek. The trail takes you through lush forests of blue pine, fir, juniper, spruce, and larch, with vibrant Rhododendron blossoms filling the landscape in late spring. As you trek, you’ll pass carpets of delicate Gentiana wildflowers, adding to the beauty of the surroundings.
For an average hiker, the ascent will take around 5-6 hours, while more experienced trekkers may reach the campsite in 3-4 hours. Once at the campsite, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the sun setting over the mountain peaks, casting a golden glow on the entire campsite.
For those looking to acclimatize, you can hike up to a height of 4,100 meters above sea level, offering spectacular panoramic views. Your night will be spent in luxurious glamping tents, providing comfort and a unique camping experience under the stars.
On the second day of the Bumdrak Trek, we descend toward one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks: the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This is the highlight of the trek, as the trail passes right by the monastery, offering stunning views and a more intimate experience than most visitors get. Unlike those arriving by car, trekkers coming from the Bumdrak campsite will reach the monastery more quickly, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the temple before the crowds.
The photography opportunities on this trail are exceptional, with unique perspectives of Tiger’s Nest as you get closer. We will conclude the trek at the base of the monastery, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us onward.
After the Tiger’s Nest Hike you must choose the luxury hotels to relax.
