Key species include the White-bellied Heron, White-rumped Vulture, Baer’s Pochard, and the Rufous-necked Hornbill. The country also shelters endangered wildlife like the elusive Red Panda and the majestic Snow Leopard. Later we will transfer to Thimphu and check in to very a nice and cozy resort to relax and acclimatize for the rest of the Bhutan Trip. Later if we need, we will also explore the capital city of Bhutan in the evening.
After indulging in a sumptuous breakfast, we’ll set off to discover some of Thimphu’s most iconic and historic landmarks. Highlights of the day include the awe-inspiring Buddha Statue, the grand Tashichoe Dzong, and the Takins Preserve Centre, where you can observe Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin, in its natural habitat.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, a journey that takes approximately two hours. Along the way, we’ll pass through the Dochula Pass, located at an altitude of 3,150 meters, offering stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan range.
Upon arrival in Punakha, we’ll check in to your luxury yet affordable accommodation at Densa Boutique Hotel, where you can unwind and relax for the evening.
Begin the day with a visit to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks. This majestic fortress, built in the 17th century, is nestled between two rivers and is known as the “Fortress of Glorious Happiness.” Explore its serene and peaceful sanctum, where important events like royal coronations and weddings are held. The Dzong is also renowned for its beautiful wall paintings and intricate wooden carvings, making it a must-see historical treasure.
Next, we’ll stop at Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge, a stunning 180-meter-long structure that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to Phobjikha Valley, a serene region famous as the winter home of the endangered Black-Necked Cranes. Upon arrival, check in to the Gangtey Lodge, one of the finest accommodations in the area, offering a blend of comfort and traditional Bhutanese charm.
Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying outdoor activities, such as playing darts or practicing archery, while dressed in the traditional Bhutanese attire—gho for men and kira for women—offering a true cultural experience.
Start the day with a refreshing morning hike, followed by a scenic drive from Phobjikha to Bumthang, passing through the historic town of Trongsa. On the way, you’ll cross four stunning mountain passes: Lawala, Pelela, Yotongla, and Kikila.
In the evening, check in to your luxurious accommodation at Aman Kora, beautifully located beside the Wangduechoeling Palace. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and unwind after your journey.
Bumthang is a home to hundreds of historical temples and sacred places. Some of the very important sightseeing places in Bumthang are Jambay Lhakhang (oldest buddhist temple), Kurje Temple (body imprints of the Guru), Tamshing Lhakhang and the Burning Lake.
Later we will come back and relax in your luxury hotel.
After breakfast, we will check out from our hotel and begin our scenic drive towards Bumthang. Along the way, we’ll stop at the Kinga Rabten Palace, a stunningly preserved heritage site once home to the Second King of Bhutan. Here, you can explore the King’s simple bedroom and experience a glimpse into Bhutan’s royal history.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Trong Heritage Village, a place where time seems to stand still. The village’s ancient architecture, with its distinct charm, remains a testament to Bhutan’s rich cultural legacy. Fun fact: this village was also the filming location for a famous scene from the Harry Potter films!
In the evening, we will arrive at Breti Ecolodge, nestled amidst the tranquil surroundings of Bhutan’s natural beauty. Relax and unwind as you listen to the soothing sounds of birds chirping in the serene atmosphere.
For nature and wildlife enthusiasts, the drive from Tingtitibi Berti Eco Lodge to Panbang along the Royal Manas National Park Highway is a truly scenic adventure. Along the route, you may spot rare species of birds and monkeys, adding to the thrill of the journey. The sound of chirping birds and the sight of cascading waterfalls and streams further enhance the beauty of the landscape.
Additionally, we will have the chance to experience a stay at the Jungle Eco-Lodge, offering a unique and immersive adventure in the heart of nature
Today, we venture into the Royal Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a vital biological corridor connecting to India’s Manas National Park. This lush sanctuary is home to rare and endangered species, including the one-horned rhinoceros and the majestic Bengal tiger.
This is also a perfect place to experience some birdwatching for some rare birds. This is where you can refresh from all stress.

After breakfast, we’ll embark on our scenic drive back through lush, dense forests, a rich hotspot for biodiversity. As we make our way to Gelephu, we’ll enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape before arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, we’ll explore Gelephu, renowned for its peaceful, mindful atmosphere. Afterward, we’ll check in to the comfortable Kuku Grand Hotel for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.
Today, we travel to Tsirang, a key region renowned for its abundant organic vegetable production. Known for its moderate climate, Tsirang is a thriving hub for fresh, locally grown produce. During our visit, you’ll have the chance to explore a village farm where you can personally pick fruits and vegetables, allowing you to experience farm life up close.
In the evening, we’ll stay on a charming farm, enjoying a simple yet authentic farm stay experience, immersed in nature’s tranquility.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will begin our scenic drive to Paro, passing through the charming towns of Wangdue Phodrang, Punakha, and Thimphu. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the impressive Punatsangchu Hydroelectric Plant, where the two-phase project—Punatsangchu I and II—generates over 2,000 megawatts of electricity, contributing significantly to the region’s energy needs.
We recommend staying in charming and comfortable hotels in Paro, both before and after your hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike & Relaxation
Early this morning, we’ll depart for the base of the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, just a 20–30 minute drive from your hotel in Paro. Upon arrival, you’ll have the option to either hike to the monastery on foot or take a horseback ride up to the Cafeteria, which serves as the halfway point.
Please note that horseback riding is only permitted up to the Cafeteria. Beyond this point, the trail becomes too steep for horses, and you’ll continue on foot for the remainder of the journey.
After completing your Tiger’s Nest adventure, unwind with a soothing spa treatment or massage at your hotel. Relax and enjoy the rest of your evening in the comfort of your luxurious accommodation.
